DUNMARRA TO TENNANT CREEK

We encountered strong winds on the trip down the Sturt Highway to Tennant Creek, but otherwise the trip was good.   We booked into the Outback Caravan Park in Tennant Creek for three days.
This park was very well run with very clean ammenities and pool.  It consisted of mainly drive through sites which made it very easy to park.  There was very little grass but the sites were shady which was great because it was so hot.   We enjoyed our stay here.   This was a very large gold mining area and the Information Centre had a mine tour which took you down a mock mine and explained all the equipment.   We went up to a lookout that showed the surrounding countryside and the town in the distance, the Pebbles which were a large group of stones similar to the Devils Marbles but much smaller ( I think that is why they were called pebbles) and Mary Anne Dam which was a large dammed lake with very nice picnic areas around it.
We are heading to Camooweal which is just over the Queensland/Northern Territory border.
