JINDALEE TO OAKEY CREEK RESERVE

We left Jindalee on Sunday morning and headed out through Ipswich, Toowoomba and then 27km from Dalby we turned off at a small town called Bowenville and drove 5km to a free camp called Oakey Creek Reserve.  The trip was uneventful, with one steep and curvey section near Toowoomba.   There were plenty of trucks on the road but they caused us no problem. Oakey Creek turned out to be a large camp beside the creek which was very good with plenty of room for caravans and motorhomes.    There were about 15 vans there when we arrived and more arrived around 3 o'çlock.  There were toilets, TV, Phone, picnic tables, child playground and internet access.
The weather here has been very cold in the mornings, with temperatures arounnd 2 degrees in the van, but during the day it has been sunny and warm.   On Monday we drove into Dalby to look around, it is larger than we expected and a nice town.    We discovered that this area is a large cotton growing area with the largest gin in Australia.   It is also a large grain producing area.
