PORT MACQUARIE TO DUMARESQ DAM

Left Port Macquarie at 9.20am and headed up the Oxley Highway.    The weather was overcast but dry.    We found the Oxley Highway quite an experience, with many tight corners and it seemed continual climbing, but the rig handed it well.
We stopped for morning tea at Stockyard Creek rest area.   It was quite good with toilets and picnic tables and fireplace, but would not accommodate many overnight vans.
Our lunch spot was Walcha East Rest Area.    Very basic with no toilets and only one picnic table.
Arrived at Dumaresq Dam around 2.35pm and set up camp.    This is a free site with no ammenities, but with plenty of room for self contained vans.     There are three other vans here.    The weather last night was very windy with a little rain, but very cold.       We survived the night without heating and will be staying here until Thursday morning when we will head on to Jim Mitchell Park outside Stanthorpe.
Below are some photos of Acquatic Van Park and Stockyard Creek Rest Area.
