Just after then another man pulled up and helped Bob change the tyre. We were very greatfull as we still had the van attached and an extra pair of hands came in very handy. We then continued on our way and reached Camooweal with no further problems. We stayed at Camooweal Billabong which is a free camp just outside the town. This was a very nice spot with plenty of room along the edge of the water there were about 20 vans there spread out along the billabong. There were no facilities but water and a dump point were available in town. The town itself was very small with few shops but we were able to eventually track down the RACQ man who fixed our tyre for a reasonable fee.
We stayed at the camp for two days and were very pleased to see the amount of bird life there and the number of cows that browsed along the edge of the water a few feet from our van every day.
We left Camooweal and made our way to Cape Crawford as someone had told us it was a nice place.
