AUGETHELLA NORTH REST AREA TO BLACKALL

Drive to Blackall was uneventfull.    We decided to stay at the Barcoo Hotel which has a small caravan park out the back.   It is supposed to hold 12 vans but in reality there is only room for about 6.
It was quite good with power and water, showers and toilets in the Pub.   It was surprisingly quite considering the position.
The first afternoon we went to the Artesian Spa Pool which has an open air olympic size heated pool as well as a spa pool.   It was great just relaxing in the spa and trying to swim in the big pool.
We had lunch at the pub - steak sandwich with chips - very nice.
The following day we did a guided tour around the Wool Scour, which is the only steam powered scour left in Australia.   It closed in 1978 but has been restored by locals and is now in working condition.  It was very interesting to see how it was done in the old days.   I think the guide we had was as old and the woolscour but was very interesting to listen to.     We then took another dip in the spa pool as it was so good.     Had tea at the pub it was very good.
Left in the morning and headed to Barcaldine.
